Tasting Notes

This is the flagship icon Shiraz from a highly regarded Western Barossa source — a strictly limited barrel selection drawn only from the finest parcels across the region’s most celebrated subdistricts. Produced only in exceptional vintages, this is the pinnacle expression: a wine built from the very best barrels, selected after long maturation in French and American oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The result is a Shiraz of extraordinary depth, purity and intensity; powerful yet finely detailed, with a structure that speaks to serious cellar potential and meticulous craftsmanship.

Critic Scores

Vino Masters Score: 97+/100

This is the flagship icon Shiraz from Lone Palm Vineyard; a meticulous barrel selection from only the best French oak barrels and the highest-quality Marananga grapes. Naturally fermented as whole berries with minimal intervention and basket-pressed into large-format oak barrels, it delivers purity, texture and exceptional depth.

The palate is luxurious and intense, unfolding with dark blackberry and mulberry fruits, rich dark chocolate, roasted cacao and espresso-like depth. Full flavoured with robust, mouth-puckering tannins that grip and linger forever.

★★★★★ Luxurious icon with eternal tannins.

Powerful and graceful, this captivating shiraz shows notes of blackberry, toasted spice, cedar, and mocha on the nose, leading to a superbly weighted palate with impressive density and depth, velvety texture, and a long, gratifying finish. Wonderfully harmonious and seamless with outstanding complexity and opulence. At its best: 2028 to 2044.

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
