The Vineyard Series is Shepherd's Hut's more site-focused Riesling, made by Rob Diletti in Porongurup within Western Australia's Great Southern. Porongurup's Riesling vineyards sit on free-draining soils of decomposed granite over loam, on the flanks of an ancient granite range whose elevation and cool nights slow ripening and lock in acidity. These conditions produce Riesling of fine detail, minerality and a subtle saline character. The 2025 season delivered clean, expressive fruit with green highlights and clarity, allowing a taut, energetic expression. Small-batch, low-intervention farming and handling underpin the range, prioritising transparency of site over volume.

Fruit was whole-bunch pressed and the juice cool-fermented in stainless steel to safeguard the aromatics of lime zest, green apple, pear and crushed stone. The wine was fermented dry with no malolactic fermentation and no oak contact, keeping the mineral-driven palate taut and precise while a gentle textural depth adds balance and length. Bracing natural acidity carries the finish, which is dry, clean and stony. Bottled young to capture its vibrant freshness, it is structured to develop further complexity with cellaring.
