Vineyard Cultivation

Tim Adams is a well-established Clare Valley producer founded by Tim Adams and Pam Goldsack, drawing on estate and long-term contract vineyards across the district. Clare Valley is a warm but elevated South Australian region whose cold nights and continental swing let white varieties hold acidity, and its Pinot Gris is built for freshness and varietal clarity. This bottling is grouped as non-vintage but is drawn from a current release; the fruit for the recent wine ripened through one of the coolest Februarys on record, which lengthened the season and preserved bright natural acidity beneath the variety's opulent pear and stone-fruit flavour. Vineyards are farmed for clean, ripe Gris fruit.

Vinification

The wine is made for immediate drinking in a fresh, fruit-forward Gris style. Grapes were pressed gently and the juice cold-settled before a cool, controlled stainless-steel fermentation that preserves the variety's opulent pear, lychee and peach aromatics. Fermentation was managed to leave a touch of fruit sweetness through the middle palate for fullness, balanced by refreshing acidity carried over from the cool ripening. Malolactic fermentation was avoided to keep the wine crisp and clean, and the Gris was made without oak, then stabilised and bottled early to retain its youthful vibrancy and clear varietal signature.

About this Wine

Clare Valley

Situated in the Mid North of South Australia, approximately 120 km north of Adelaide is one of Australia's oldest wine regions the Clare Valley. The area is broken up into three sub-regions, the Polish Hill River region to the east, the Central Clare Valley, and the Skillogalee Valley to the west.

Often associated with some of Australia's finest Riesling the cool climate and differing terroirs have paved the way for exciting and diverse wines over a plethora of varietals resulting in wines of pure expression and great length.
