Tasting Notes

Tower Estate Semillon 2005 is a distinguished mature Australian white wine with exceptional provenance and collector appeal. Founded by the late Len Evans, Tower Estate formed part of an acclaimed Hunter Valley development that included the award-winning 5-star Tower Lodge accommodation and convention centre.

Recognised with an impressive 95 points from James Halliday, this rare 2005 vintage has been sourced from a premium private cellar, offering a carefully preserved example of age-worthy Hunter Valley Semillon. The variety is renowned for developing greater complexity, texture and character with bottle age, making mature releases particularly sought after.

With its celebrated winemaking heritage, notable critic recognition and outstanding provenance, Tower Estate Semillon 2005 is a compelling addition to a premium wine collection. The winery and lodge were acquired by Karen and Michael Hope in October 2013, further connecting Tower Estate with the region’s established wine legacy.

Critic Scores

Herb, slate and grass aromas; classic Hunter semillon from a classic vintage; fine but intense lemon and mineral flavours; long finish. Pray for the cork.
