Critic Scores

I guess some of the more expensive wines highlight the terrific value the lower priced offerings from Woodlands are. The 2014 Cabernet Merlot and Cabernet Franc Merlot, for example, are superb.

Thick with toasty cedar oak, also has that camphor chest thing that the 2013 Woodlands Cabernets seem to show. Peppermint dark chocolate, violet, blackberry, spice and tobacco. Full bodied, robust tannin, crisp acidity, black fruits, intense and backwards, with a firm finish featuring some chocolate orange, ash and splintery tannin in the aftertaste. Leave it alone for a while.
