Selection 23 is a commercial range from Zilzie Wines, the Forbes family's Karadoc-based producer in Victoria's Murray Darling. The Breeze wines are a lower-alcohol line, built to keep flavour and aroma while trimming alcohol and calories. This non-vintage Pinot Noir starts as a full-strength wine made from carefully chosen fruit parcels selected for intense aroma and flavour, with the alcohol then gently reduced to between 8 and 9.5% without heat or harsh methods so the wine's character is preserved. The base draws on warm-inland fruit blended for a consistent, approachable house style rather than a single site or season.

Premium Pinot Noir parcels were selected, crushed and cold-soaked, then fermented in stainless steel fermenters fitted with sweep arms over five to seven days to extract colour and gentle tannin. The wine passed through a membrane press and was matured on French oak for three to four months to add a light toasty frame and roundness, before final blending and bottling. The alcohol was then gently lowered to the target 8-9.5% by a heat-free method, retaining the ripe-cherry aromatics, silky red-berry fruit and soft tannins that define the style. The result is a lighter, easy-drinking red for immediate enjoyment.
