Selection 23 is a commercial range from Zilzie Wines, the family-owned producer based at Karadoc in Victoria's Murray Darling. The Breeze line offers a lower-alcohol option that aims to keep the full flavour and aroma of a conventional wine while reducing alcohol and calories. This non-vintage Pinot Grigio begins as a full-strength wine built from carefully chosen parcels selected for aromatic intensity, before the alcohol is gently reduced to around 8-9.5% without heat or harsh processing. The blend draws on warm-inland fruit assembled for a crisp, consistent house style rather than a single vineyard or vintage.

Fruit was harvested in the cool of the night to protect freshness and quality, then cool-fermented in individual batches in stainless steel to preserve delicate pear and citrus character. Lees stirring was used to build length and roundness on the palate, after which the wine was blended, stabilised and filtered ahead of bottling. The alcohol was then gently lowered to the Breeze target of roughly 8-9.5% using a heat-free method, retaining the crisp, zesty style. The finished wine shows pear, green apple and nashi with a clean citrus finish, made for immediate, refreshing drinking.
