Tasting Notes
Founded by sparkling specialist Ed Carr, House of Arras sources only from Tasmania's coolest vineyards to capture purity and finesse.
For Cuvee 1801 Rose, 64% Pinot Noir, 27.4% Chardonnay and 8.6% Meunier are selected, with each variety contributing distinct fruit and structure. Grapes are gently pressed and base wines fermented in stainless steel, then blended and bottled for a traditional method second fermentation.
Extended lees ageing - four years in bottle - builds complexity and a creamy mousse. The wine is finished extra-brut, with a dosage of just 2.5 g/L, preserving brisk acidity and precision. On release, it shows a delicate pink colour, lifted aromas of wild strawberry, blood orange and subtle spice, and a refined, savoury palate with notes of red berries, chalk and brioche. The finish is persistent, dry and fresh, making it a benchmark for Australian rosé sparkling.
