Apsley Gorge lies on Tasmania's East Coast near Bicheno, the vineyard sheltered beneath the Douglas-Apsley National Park. Cool and maritime, the site enjoys a long, drawn-out ripening season and is typically among the last picked in the state, which preserves both flavour development and the vibrant natural acidity that defines Tasmanian Pinot Noir. Established by Brian Franklin from the late 1980s, the estate reflects a winemaker who works vintages in both France and Tasmania.
