The Arran 25 Year Old represents a remarkable milestone in the story of Lochranza Distillery: a quarter-century of maturation and an exceptional expression of the elegant, fruit-driven character that defines Arran Single Malt.

Created from a carefully selected combination of ex-Sherry and Bourbon casks, this distinguished 25 Year Old brings together richness, maturity and remarkable balance. Extended ageing has developed layers of dried and baked fruits, honeyed sweetness, warming spice and polished oak, while preserving the vibrant fruit character at the heart of the Arran house style.

The Sherry casks provide richness and depth, bringing notes of figs, sultanas, dark cherries, fruit cake and toasted nuts. Bourbon cask influence provides lift and elegance, with citrus, honey and sweetness balancing the mature oak. After 25 years, these elements come together seamlessly, creating a whisky of considerable complexity without allowing the oak to overwhelm the spirit.

Bottled at 46% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, the Arran 25 Year Old is presented with minimal intervention, allowing both the mature spirit and exceptional cask selection to take centre stage.

Originally introduced as the oldest age-statement whisky in Arran's core range, production was extremely limited, with approximately 3,000 bottles released worldwide each year. The expression was retired in 2025, bringing its regular production to an end and making remaining bottles an increasingly scarce opportunity to experience one of Lochranza Distillery's most mature releases.

For collectors and long-time followers of Arran, the 25 Year Old represents an important chapter in the distillery's history. For the drinker, however, its appeal goes well beyond rarity: this is mature Arran at its most layered, composed and expressive.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Deep and mature, with polished oak and gentle nutmeg opening into sweeter aromas of baked figs, sultanas and ripe black cherries.

Palate: Rich and layered, with fruit cake, toasted almonds and cinnamon at its core. Juicy orange and mandarin zest provide freshness, complemented by Manuka honey, muscovado sugar and baked apricot. A distinctive touch of white pepper adds spice and further complexity.

Finish: Long, creamy and gently spicy, with dark chocolate, walnuts and rich dark-fruit compote lingering alongside beautifully integrated mature oak.
