United Cellars invites guests to explore the extraordinary connection between two of the world’s great homes of Pinot Noir. Bass Phillip has long stood as one of Australia’s most revered producers, crafting wines of remarkable purity, precision and quiet power from the cool slopes of Gippsland. Paired alongside them are the elegant and expressive wines of Jean-Marie Fourrier, one of Burgundy’s most respected vignerons, whose work in Gevrey-Chambertin has earned global acclaim for its finesse and authenticity.

Adam Francis - Bass Phillip Winemaker will take through a thoughtfully curated tasting of wines that highlight the shared philosophy between these two producers: minimal intervention, exceptional vineyard sites and a relentless pursuit of purity in Pinot Noir.

Key highlights of the evening include:

Bottega

Bottega is one of those Melbourne dining rooms that feels effortlessly self-assured, the kind of place that doesn’t need to shout about itself because the room, the service, and the food do the talking for it. Tucked into the Paris end of Bourke Street, it channels that classic Melbourne blend of understated elegance and modern Italian warmth. You step inside and the noise of the city just… softens.

What makes Bottega tick is its clarity of purpose. The kitchen cooks Italian food the way Melburnians actually want to eat it: refined but not stiff, generous but not heavy, familiar but with enough personality to keep you leaning forward. Handmade pastas form the backbone, silky ribbons of pappardelle wrapped around slow-braised lamb, pillowy gnocchi that taste like they were rolled moments before service, risottos that balance richness with lift. The produce is seasonal, the flavours clean, the technique confident. There’s a sense of knowing restraint; nothing is over-worked or dressed up for the sake of it.

Bottega doesn’t try to be the new hot thing. It just focuses on being consistently excellent, a modern Italian restaurant with soul, polish and a calm confidence that makes it one of Melbourne’s most reliable, quietly iconic dining experiences.
