Bethany Shiraz 1997
Bethany Shiraz 1997
Tasting Notes
Bethany Shiraz 1997 is a distinguished Barossa Valley red sourced from some of the region’s finest parcels and preserved in a premium private cellar. With fruit from Bethany’s historic vineyards, this mature Shiraz reflects the area’s renowned combination of richness, depth and freshness.
Expect the typical regional fruit power associated with Barossa Shiraz, supported by an underlying freshness that brings balance and poise. The 1997 vintage offers an opportunity to experience a well-aged Australian red with developed character and cellar-aged complexity.
Bethany Wines holds a special place in the Barossa’s winemaking story. The Schrapel family arrived from Silesia in 1844 and established the Barossa’s first settlement at Bethany. In 1852, Johann Gottlob Schrapel planted the region’s first vineyard from European cuttings, laying the foundation for a family legacy closely connected with the area’s oldest vines and enduring wine culture.
A cellar-worthy Barossa Shiraz with heritage, regional expression and impressive provenance.
