Italo Cescon is a third-generation family winery at Roncadelle di Ormelle on the Piave plain in the Veneto, just inland from Venice, with vineyard interests extending into Friuli, the traditional home of Pinot Grigio in north-east Italy. The 'Vino dell'Amicizia' is drawn from the region's alluvial gravel-and-clay soils, where a moderate maritime climate and good diurnal range preserve aromatic freshness. As a consistent house style rather than a single-season wine, it relies on careful vineyard selection each year to deliver the fruit purity, texture and dry balance for which the label is known.

Grapes are gently pressed and cool-fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to protect primary fruit and floral aromatics. The wine is dry and unoaked, with a short period on fine lees building the creamy, textured mouthfeel that critics highlight, before early bottling to maintain freshness. Malolactic fermentation is generally avoided to keep the palate crisp and the finish long. Expect poached pear, red apple, lemon peel and a subtle oatmeal note framed by well-pitched acidity.
