Chateau Brane Cantenac 2023
Tasting Notes
The 2022 Château Brane-Cantenac is a stunning wine from Margaux. It is made from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, and 1% Carmenere.
The wine has a deep ruby color with garnet highlights. The nose is complex and inviting, with aromas of red rose petals, damp earth, rosemary, baking spice, sandalwood, incense, graphite, and slate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with flavors of deep chocolate, mint, lush damson, and cassis. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the finish is long and lingering.
This wine is drinking beautifully now, but it will also reward cellaring for 15-20 years or more. It is a truly outstanding wine from one of the great estates of Margaux.
