This Bordeaux that is produced on great terroirs on the Right bank hills of Saint Foy La Grande is our best Price/Quality ratio wine of our portfolio. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet France and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Domaines Fontana vineyard are located in Gensac, but also extends to the neighbouring communes. In 1950, Huguette and Angelo Fontana, then in their twenties, had a dream in mind and settled in the small Gironde commune to found Domaines Fontana. The work of a lifetime began, Huguette and Angelo planted vines and build a winery. The years and vintages passed and it was not only vines that grew around then, but alsi their 5 children. They grew up in the heard of the Domaine and have inherited their parent's passion. Over the generation, this heritage has grown, and today, the grandchildren have in turn joined the Fontana Estate, which in 2021 will extend to over 300 hectares. They bring with them their modernity, their fresh look, their dynamism, and their youth; in a common desire to share this passion for the vine and wine.
Tasting notes:
This wine has a deep garnet colour. The nose with fresh and obvious notes of red betties completed by clove-like nuances. The mouth is shaped by silky tannin, making it smooth and dynamic. The finish, without being necessarily long, is soft and pleasant.
