Distillation & Provenance

Crafted only for our premium spirits

Distillation

Compagnie des Indes Boulet de Canon N.14 is a blended rum from molasses-based distillates sourced from Nicaragua and Panama, each aged between three and five years in oak barrels. Following initial ageing, the blended rum was transferred for six months into peated whisky casks from a renowned Scottish distillery — the signature technique for even-numbered Boulet de Canon releases — which introduces layers of smoke, dried dark fruit, clove, and dark chocolate into the rum's tropical and wood-driven base. Bottled without cold filtration at 46% ABV, preserving the full texture and complexity developed during cask finishing.

Provenance

La Compagnie des Indes is a French independent rum blending and bottling house founded in 2014 by Florent Beuchet — a young Burgundian from a spirits background, whose father owns an absinthe and anise distillery. Based in France, the company sources and selects rum casks from distilleries across the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond, ageing and finishing them to create distinctive single-origin and blended expressions. The Boulet de Canon ('Cannonball') range is a series of limited-edition peated and smoke-influenced blended rums, in which odd-numbered releases use funk or tropical techniques, and even-numbered releases — including N.14 — are finished in peated whisky casks.
