    • Description

“After a several-year hiatus while we waited for our new pinot noir vines to grow, the Stoney Vineyard Pinot Noir returns—juicy, fresh and floral. Drawn from a new block at the bottom of the vineyard, the fruit character is bright and light, with fresh raspberries and wafts of baked cherry pie overlaid by floral, almost peachy spice notes. Palate is light but well structured, with skinsy tannins and good supporting acid. A vibrant expression of a promising new block.” – Domaine A Ripe and quite substantially weighted, this powerful Tassie Pinot was matured in seasoned French oak barriques for 18 months. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed like aromas of violets, dark cherries and strawberries emanate from the glass trailed by earthy forest floor, subtle anise and lightly toasted spicy cedar notes. Rich, medium weighted spicy dark cherry and ripe strawberry fruits engulf the mouth with an undercard of earthy forest floor, anise and toasty cedar. Polished yet sturdy tannins with a long ripe, spicy aftertaste.

"These wines must be judged amongst the very top wines in the world." Anthony Foster MW

“I have never been so gob-smacked with a range of wines in all my life.” Matthew Jukes

“Domaine A – Australia’s Best Cabernet?” Max Allen

“I have no hesitation in saying that this is the best oaked Sauvignon Blanc I have tasted." James Halliday

Established in 1973, this Tasmanian icon is one of Australia's most celebrated wineries. A confluence of factors have made it so; a temperate climate cooled by the sea breeze, some of the longest sunshine hours in Australia, intense, late-ripening vines, and the finest winemaking traditions executed with subtlety and finesse all contribute to the final product: some of Australia's finest wine.
