Tasting Notes

Domaine Blain-Gagnard Le Montrachet Grand Cru 2024 is an exceptionally rare white Burgundy sourced from the legendary Le Montrachet Grand Cru climat, one of the most prestigious sites in the Côte de Beaune. Spanning both Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, this celebrated terroir is renowned for producing profound, age-worthy wines of remarkable distinction.

Blain-Gagnard’s grand cru whites express the power and breadth of Le Montrachet with a signature style defined by restraint, precision, and balance. The 2024 vintage offers a highly sought-after opportunity to experience one of Burgundy’s most iconic expressions in an exceptionally limited release.

Critic Scores

(Blain produces 1 to 2 barrels annually from the Chassagne side). A slightly riper and more floral-suffused nose also displays notes of spice and acacia blossom that are trimmed in a beautifully subtle dollop of wood influence. The dense but sleek and tautly muscular yet reasonably refined flavors are even more powerful, all wrapped in a superbly long, wellbalanced and driving finish. In contrast to the Bâtard, which is sizeable by the standards of the appellation, this is not a huge Monty yet it is even more tightly wound; indeed it’s a wine that I would strongly advise not touching for at least a decade.
