“Virginie Moreau-Naudet is carrying on the work of her late husband, Stéphane, with real aplomb.” Tim Atkin MW

The wines are in high demand and sold on allocation. We also receive large-format bottlings most years.

Fermentations are natural, the Petit and village wines are vinified in stainless steel, and no more than 33% old oak is used for Premier and Grand Cru.

Tasting Notes

The 2023 Beauregard is a standout from Domaine Moreau Naudet, capturing the elegance and quiet power of this lesser known premier cru. Planted on a gentle southwest facing slope near the village of Milly, Beauregard tends to produce Chablis with a touch more weight and depth—qualities that Moreau Naudet channels into something both structured and supremely drinkable.

Organically farmed and biodynamically worked, the vines here are rooted in classic Kimmeridgian limestone, bringing clarity and a fine mineral thread to the wine. As always, fruit is hand harvested at full ripeness, then fermented with native yeasts and aged on lees without additions or corrections. The result is a wine that balances generosity with precision—white peach, lemon zest, and crushed oyster shell framed by firm acidity and a chalky finish.

More textural and layered than the village wine, the 2023 Beauregard offers immediate charm but has the bones to age beautifully. It is a premier cru with quiet confidence and a deep sense of place.

Critic Scores

From a 0.16-hectare parcel of 25-year-old-vines and vinified entirely in tank, 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard is only the second edition Moreau has produced. Facing south but with a steep 40% incline, it has delivered a beautifully lively wine that unfurls to reveal notions of white flowers, grapefruit zest and green apple. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, bright and incisive, with considerable energy and cut, concluding with a sapid finish. With just 12.5% alcohol, it’s the lowest level among premiers crus in the range this year.
