    • Description

Pale straw yellow colour. The nose is bright and reveals a beautiful panoply of fruity aromas as well as lime blossom. This early character and already quite open style is also found on the palate. The loamy-gravelly terroir of Turckheim produces expressive wines in their youth and the sunny climate of 2020 will have built a charming, expressive and intense wine. The attack on the palate is supple, caressing but firms up on the finish, revealing a ripe and structuring acidity. Beautiful saline finish that lingers on with an attractive fruity profile. Although already very expressive, this wine will age well.

    Domaine Zind Humbrecht

While the Humbrecht family have been winegrowers since 1620, the Domaine Zind Humbrecht was founded in 1959 following the marriage of Léonard Humbrecht to Geneviève Zind. It has 40 hectares of vines, spread throughout a range of Grand Cru and single-vineyard sites.

Olivier Humbrecht is one of the stars in the wine world’s firmament. As well as being one of relatively few winemakers to have achieved the Master of Wines qualification, he is also one of the champions of biodynamics, and is currently president of Biodyvin. Zind-Humbrecht is arguably the best wine producer in Alsace, with a stunning line-up of powerful, rich wines that possess a real sense of place.

In the winery, unsurprisingly the wines are made in a hands-off way: the fermentations are slow and the wines spend at least six months on the gross lees. Bottling occurs after filtration some 12–24 months following the harvest.
