Duke's Vineyard is a retirement project-turned-obsession of Duke and Hilde Ranson.

Cabernet is Duke's passion. He planted his first vines of Cabernet it in the foothils of the Porongurups back in 1999. Today, it's absolutely flourishing.

The result of the dry year was a fragrant wine with powerful cassis flavours and a fine acid finish. Its richness is spectacular because it parallels the wine's power.

Endless peaks of supple blackcurrant and cassis make light of the varietal tannins that can dog cabernet.

Enjoy with family and friends. Pairs well with beef and venison.

    Duke's Vineyard

Duke and Hilde Ranson took a somewhat unconventional approach to retirement, deciding that establishing a vineyard in Western Australia’s Great Southern was preferable to your more standard retirement plans. First planted on Duke’s birthday in 1999, Duke’s Vineyard has gone on to become a remarkable success for the couple, winning a swag of awards and accolades for their wines along the way.

It’s still very much a family affair – Duke takes a hands-on role in the vineyard, where Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon is paramount. The cellar door, which was designed by successful artist, Hilde, has become something of an icon in the Porongurup region, with glorious views and Hilde’s artwork on display.
