Glenfiddich Grand Chateau 31 Year Old is the most aged expression in the Grand Series, matured for a minimum of 31 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks at the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown. The expression is then finished in casks formerly used to hold wine from Château Léoville Barton — a Second Growth Saint-Julien Grand Cru Classé estate in Bordeaux — which impart the complex dried fruit, leather, and fine wine tannins of the Bordeaux cask on the long-aged Speyside spirit. Three decades of bourbon oak maturation followed by this prestigious French wine cask finish makes the Grand Chateau one of the most complex expressions in the Glenfiddich range. 40% ABV.

Glenfiddich Distillery was founded on Christmas Day 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland — a location chosen for its access to the Robbie Dhu spring water. The house has remained in the ownership of the William Grant & Sons family for five generations, making it one of the very few major Scotch whisky distilleries still in the hands of the family that founded it.
