Description
Located on the Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong is a specialist Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producer; their Massale Pinot Noir consistently delivers one of the region's best value examples. Produced from a blend of estate grown Pinot Noir parcels from Kooyong's Tuerong and Balnarring vineyards, the 2023 Kooyong Massale Pinot Noir. Semi translucent red to dark red colour with black shaded edges and a vibrant light red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, dark cherries and anise sail out of the glass followed by some strawberries, brambly dried herbs, forest floor and spice. Delicious cherry and strawberry fruits are layered across the palate with a supple feel. Sitting underneath are notions of anise, forest floor, dried herbs and spice. Velvet smooth tannins with fresh acidity lending energy to the spicy red fruited finish that shows good length.
