Tasting Notes

Lindeman’s St George Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1993 is a distinguished mature Australian red wine from one of Coonawarra’s most recognised premium Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. This historic vintage reflects the heritage of the renowned Lindeman’s Coonawarra Trio, alongside Limestone Ridge Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet and the Pyrus Cabernet blend.

The first release of St George Cabernet Sauvignon was the 1973 vintage, establishing a long-standing tradition of exceptional Coonawarra Cabernet. The region is celebrated for its distinctive terra rossa soils, rich red earth over limestone that is ideally suited to producing structured, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon.

With its 1993 vintage character and strong provenance, this rare release offers an exceptional opportunity to acquire a significant piece of Australian wine history. Sourced from a premium private cellar, it is a compelling addition to a fine wine collection, suited to special-occasion enjoyment or considered cellaring.

About this Wine

Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the world's most widely planted red grapes, known for firm tannins, dark fruit flavors, and strong ageing potential.

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
