Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi take a distinctly hands off approach to winemaking, allowing the character of Fiano and its Adelaide Hills origins to come through with freshness, generosity and texture.

Fiano’s southern Italian heritage meets the cooler Adelaide Hills, producing a dry white with vibrant fruit and plenty of natural freshness rather than relying on oak or heavy winemaking.

Aromatic and expressive, with bright citrus, white peach, apple and subtle melon characters. Fresh enough for seafood and salads, yet textured enough for creamy pasta and poultry.

Tasting Notes

Longhop ‘Alluvium’ Adelaide Hills Fiano 2025 is a fresh, expressive Australian white wine that combines Fiano’s southern Italian heritage with the cool-climate character of the Adelaide Hills.

Made by Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi with a distinctly hands-off approach, this dry Adelaide Hills Fiano allows the variety and vineyard origins to shine. Aromas of bright citrus, white peach, crisp apple and subtle melon lead to a generous, textured palate with vibrant natural freshness.

Crafted without reliance on oak or heavy winemaking, Alluvium Fiano is lively, pure and beautifully rounded. Its refreshing acidity makes it a natural match for seafood, salads and lighter dishes, while its satisfying texture complements creamy pasta, poultry and soft cheeses.

A graceful example of Adelaide Hills Fiano, offering aromatic fruit, effortless drinkability and the distinctive freshness of a cool-climate Australian wine region.

About this Wine

Fiano

An aromatic white grape from southern Italy, known for its floral, nutty character and good ageing potential.

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
