Tasting Notes

Longview Fortuna Sparkling Nebbiolo Rosato 2024 showcases the versatility and elegance of 100% Nebbiolo in a vibrant sparkling rosé style.

Nebbiolo is celebrated as one of the world’s great rosé varieties, and when grown in the right location, it can produce wines of remarkable fragrance, finesse and structure. The Fortuna Sparkling Nebbiolo Rosato brings these qualities together with the lively character of sparkling wine, offering an expressive and refined alternative to traditional sparkling rosé.

The exceptional 2024 vintage was marked by low yields, resulting in concentrated fruit and outstanding quality. This rare combination promises a vintage with impressive longevity and distinction. Delicate, powdery tannins add subtle texture, while Nebbiolo’s aromatic character provides depth and complexity beneath the wine’s fresh, sparkling profile.

Elegant, distinctive and beautifully poised, this premium Australian sparkling rosé is a compelling expression of Nebbiolo and a memorable addition to any wine collection.

Critic Scores

What a brilliant fizzy rosé wine! Snappy, refreshing, tart, dry, crisp and crunchy with tannin. Rosehip tea meets Campari and blood orange. It's fragrant and just so very, very tasty. Frisky bubbles seal the deal. It's a wine of great vim and vigour, deliciousness and great energy. The DNA of nebbiolo is all there, too. More of this kind of thing, thanks!

You get the Nebbiolo DNA here, all the way, no doubt. The perfume: sour cherry, cranberry, potpourri, some blood orange and wet red brick. It’s delicate and has body at the same time; it’s pretty and meaty. This perfume comes with substance—the palate is savoury with minty notes midway and some more cherry lingering in the finish with crushed cumin. All is pretty lovely. Very tasty drink.

About this Wine

Longview Vineyard

Longview Vineyards are in the Adelaide Hill, South Australia. They produce big reds, mainly shiraz.

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
