Tasmania's most exciting premium label, the Fogarty Group sure has hit the ground running.

95 Points James Halliday's Wine Companion "The Fogarty Group has made quite a splash in Tasmania and wines like this make a serious statement about their confidence to play at the top end."

Beautifully balanced wine with a rich lemon nose, stone fruit, a touch of almond, the palate is broad and layered; there is tons of zippy texture which acts as the backbone, wrapped in rich, taught honeyed lemon and pineapple.

    • Description

The fruit is sourced from the Tasmar Valley, Coal River Valley and the Tasman Peninsula. This shows the tremendous potential for Tasmanian chardonnay. It has a slightly savoury and lightly toasty aroma with traces of creamy stone fruit and honeysuckle. Throw in some lifted touches of grapefruit and lemon zest with the subtle intrusion of roasted cashew and you get some idea of its complexity. The palate is immensely powerful yet delivers with a degree of restraint and poise. Traces of cumquat and lemon peel

    Lowestoft

Experience the timeless allure of Lowestoft Homestead, an historic Tasmanian gem constructed between 1839 and 1850. Nestled along the serene banks of the Derwent River, this captivating estate offers panoramic views of the iconic Mona museum, the artistic haven, and the Moorilla Winery.

The heart of Lowestoft lies in its intimate 3-hectare vineyard, a tapestry of ancient Pinot Noir vines first planted in 1986. This vineyard, densely packed with 8,300 vines per hectare, boasts some of Tasmania's oldest and most coveted grape varieties.

With a dedication to excellence, our approach extends beyond our own vineyard's capacity. We meticulously curate grapes from premier growers across diverse subregions like the Huon Valley, Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley, and Tamar Valley. This enables us to craft wines that showcase the distinct character of each unique terroir.

In a testament to our commitment, we've expanded our influence by establishing two new vineyards: Strelley Farm in Richmond, adjacent to the Coal River Valley, and Gilling Brook in Forcett to the east of Strelley Farm. These vineyards boast optimal north and north-east facing slopes, enriched by superior soil profiles and abundant water sources – a crucial advantage in the arid Coal River Valley, where rainfall averages just 300–500mm annually.

From the 2023 vintage onwards, the fruits of these new vineyards will grace our collection, enhancing the Lowestoft legacy. The finest selections from each year will converge under the guidance of chief winemaker Liam McElhinney at Tasmanian Vintners, wholly owned by the esteemed Fogarty Wine Group. Embrace the symphony of history, terroir, and expertise in every bottle of Lowestoft wine.
