Penderyn Celt is a peated expression from Penderyn Distillery in the Brecon Beacons, Wales — part of the core Dragon Series range. Like all Penderyn single malts, the spirit is produced in the distillery's bespoke Faraday single pot still — a design by Dr David Faraday that draws spirit at approximately 92% ABV, producing an unusually light and fruity new-make before cask maturation. Penderyn Celt adds a layer of peat smoke character through maturation in specially selected peated casks, rather than peating the barley at the malting stage. The expression balances Penderyn's characteristic light, fruity, vanilla-rich house style from bourbon cask maturation with coastal smoke and gentle medicinal notes from the peated cask influence. Bottled at 41% ABV.

Penderyn Distillery is located in the village of Penderyn in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales, and is the first legal commercial whisky distillery to operate in Wales for more than a century. The revival was conceived in the late 1990s by a group of friends in a pub in the Welsh valleys, who established the Welsh Whisky Company and began production in 2000, with the first commercial release sold in 2004 in the presence of the then-Prince of Wales, Charles. The distillery uses its own supply of natural spring water drawn from the Beacons. Penderyn has since expanded to additional sites and is the principal producer of single malt Welsh whisky.
