Pertaringa is a long-established McLaren Vale winery, with its name drawn from an Aboriginal word meaning “belonging to the hills.” The Yeoman Shiraz reflects the region’s proud tradition of producing rich, expressive reds with strong vineyard character.

Juicy blackberry, ripe plum and dark chocolate flavours are backed by pepper, warm spice and smooth tannins. Generous and easy to enjoy, it’s a natural match for steak, lamb, burgers, sausages or a classic Aussie barbecue.

Tasting Notes

Pertaringa The Yeoman Shiraz 2017 showcases the rich, expressive character of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Crafted by long-established Pertaringa, a winery whose name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning “belonging to the hills,” this full-bodied Australian red reflects the region’s proud tradition of producing generous wines with strong vineyard character.

Juicy blackberry and ripe plum flavours lead into layers of dark chocolate, cracked pepper and warm spice. Smooth tannins provide balance and structure, while the polished finish makes this premium Shiraz approachable and enjoyable now.

Sourced from a premium private cellar, this 2017 vintage is a refined expression of McLaren Vale red wine. Its rich, versatile profile pairs beautifully with grilled steak, roast or barbecued lamb, gourmet burgers, sausages and classic Australian barbecue fare.

About this Wine

Shiraz

Bold and full-bodied, Shiraz delivers rich dark fruit flavours of blackberry, plum, and black cherry, layered with black pepper, clove, and subtle smoke. Firm tannins and a velvety texture give it real structure, often rounded out by notes of chocolate and vanilla from oak ageing. A versatile pairing partner for grilled meats and hearty dishes, it's one of Australia's most planted red varieties

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
