This is the first commercial batch of Poor Toms' soon-to-be infamous Strawberry Gin.

The PT crew steep the tastiest fresh strawberries they can find along with young ginger and hibiscus flowers (for colour) in a batch of Sydney Dry Gin. These ingredients impart their bright, lifted flavours and aromas and create the Gin’s beautiful pink hue. Then, the late addition of intensified cardamom and cubeb (or “Java”) pepper distillates to help elevate the delicate sweetness of the strawberry.

It goes well mixed in a G&T, makes a cracking Rosé Negroni with Belsazar Rosé Vermouth. Best however is when this is used in a Strawberry Gin Martini. Poor Toms Strawberry Gin Martini; 60 ml Strawberry Gin 15 ml Belsazar Rosé Vermouth 5 ml Dry P.X. Amontillado Sherry Stir over ice until chilled, strain, then garnish with a twist.

    Poor Toms

Established in 2015 by two housemates, Jesse and Griff, Poor Toms has grown into one of Australia’s most loved gin brands. Jesse studied economics at uni, then went to work for a merchant bank in the city. His consumption of gin became proportional to his boredom at work. So he cut out the middle-man and decided to make the stuff. Griff has been drinking gin since his dad gave him his first sip of g&t when he was five years old. Before founding Poor Toms, Griff was a gold miner, bartender, and failed actor. The Shakespeare nerds out there might have already guessed where the name Poor Toms comes from.
