The Kiedrich Turmberg vineyard, another of Robert Weil's premier parcels, occupies south-facing slopes with diverse soil composition—slate, loess, and quartz—that impart distinctive mineral character to Riesling. The 2021 vintage's warmth and early ripening particularly suited Turmberg's exposed position, concentrating fruit whilst maintaining acidity. Weil's meticulous canopy management ensured balanced ripeness and the development of botrytis (noble rot) where conditions allowed. Auslese selection involves multiple harvest passes, choosing only affected berries at peak concentration.

Turmberg's concentrated Auslese grapes receive gentle, whole-bunch pressing to extract sweet juice whilst minimising harsh tannin extraction. Low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel proceeds slowly, developing complexity from the vintage's concentrated fruit. The resulting 375ml format Auslese (typical for sweet wines) balances residual sugar with acidity and mineral expression.
