Tasting Notes

Rusden Boundaries Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 is a refined expression of premium Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the family-owned Rusden estate, renowned for generations of viticultural heritage and traditional, handcrafted winemaking.

Rich and full-bodied yet beautifully balanced, this distinguished vintage reveals layered flavours of cassis, blackberry, dark chocolate and subtle cedar. Fine, integrated tannins provide structure and depth, leading to a polished, lingering finish that reflects the character of low-yielding Barossa vineyards.

Sourced from a premium private cellar, this mature Australian red wine is an elegant addition to any collection. Enjoy it with grilled steak, roast beef or a hearty Sunday lunch.

Critic Scores

Since its debut vintage, Christian Canute’s Cabernet Sauvignon has been one of Australia’s finest. His 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Boundaries (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is reminiscent of Colgin Cabernet from California. Its extraordinarily pure bouquet of blueberry, creme de cassis, graphite, smoke, mint, and high quality toasty oak is accompanied by great fruit, stature, and richness in the mouth as well as a long, full-bodied finish that lasts for 45+ seconds. Although still young and precocious, this beauty should evolve for 10-15 years.

Dark ruby, deep core, ocher reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Dark berries notes with fine herbal savouriness in the background, hints of black olives, ethereal nuances of spearmint. Juicy, fine cherry nuances, sweet cassis, silky tannins, pleasant sweet fruit, fine tannins, ripe orange on the finish, a finesse-rich food wine.

About this Wine

Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the world's most widely planted red grapes, known for firm tannins, dark fruit flavors, and strong ageing potential.

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
