A heroic, dense and muscular rendition of the Hoffmann’s sun drenched Eben-Ezer earths. Laced together from the two oldest sections within the Hoffmann families vineyard, planted on their own roots in 1927 (0.31 Hectare) & the oldest vines between 1888 & 1912 (0.775 Hectare) with a thimble from the neighbouring Eric’s Corner planted in 1996 (0.39 Hectare). These 19 Burgundian Pièces were carefully assembled and bottled amidst the spring of 2020 after enduring their 81 week elevage. Bottles were filled without filtration, fining or sparging (the removal of naturally occurring oxygen & C02) and all transfer’s were completed via gravity prior to bottling. Yields ranged between 21 & 27 hectolitres per hectare. 5216 bottles were filled. Label: Andy’s Porpoise, printed 2017. Rear – Andy’s bird, sewn 2019.

    Sami Odi

Sami-Odi is a boutique wine label that represents the passion and expertise of Fraser McKinley, who transitioned from being a sommelier to winemaker. Fraser is known for his unwavering commitment to producing high-quality, small-batch Shiraz from the Hoffmann's 'Dallwitz' vineyard in the Barossa Valley. This vineyard boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia, with some dating back to 1888, which Fraser treats with the utmost care and attention.

Fraser's approach to winemaking is a blend of traditional and modern techniques, which he acquired during his time working in the cellars of esteemed wineries such as Torbreck and Standish Wine Co. He carefully nurtures the grapes, carefully selecting each cluster and using only the best fruit to craft his cuvees. Each vintage is a unique expression of the vineyard's terroir, showcasing the depth and complexity of Barossa Shiraz.

The wines produced by Sami-Odi are highly sought after by collectors, with each vintage selling out quickly. This is not surprising, given that the wines are transcendent expressions of Barossa Shiraz, demonstrating a sense of place, complexity, and depth rarely seen in wines of this caliber. Each wine is a testament to Fraser's dedication to his craft, and his unwavering commitment to quality and excellence.
