Description
Smoke, Without the Chaos.
There's a moment when the smoke settles. When things don't lose their edge, but they gain control. That's what Se Busca Reposado captures - the point where raw power learns how to hold itself with calm.
Made from 100% EspadIn agave and aged ten months in French oak, this is the middle ground in the Se Busca range - but it's no compromise. It's a mezcal that still carries weight, still speaks with clarity, but now with patience behind it.
The oak adds warmth without softening the core. You still get the smoke, the grip of earth, the identity of EspadIn. But around it, there's structure - vanilla, toasted spice, a kind of slow-moving richness that feels earned rather than added. The nose is all balance: light smoke, roasted agave, a little dried fruit and charred wood. The palate is deeper. Butterscotch, clove, and burnt sugar meet cooked agave and a touch of leather. Rounded, yes - but never dull. There's still fire here. It just knows where to go.
The finish holds. Not in a theatrical way - there's no dramatic fade. It just stays where it needs to, warm and dry, with a hum of oak spice and smoke that lands without effort.
This is the pour for after the work is done. Not flashy. Not trying to win anyone over. Just solid, composed mezcal with enough maturity to carry itself without explanation. It's excellent neat - preferably in good company - and it plays beautifully in spirit-forward cocktails: a smoky riff on a Manhattan, or a Reposado Old Fashioned with mole bitters and agave syrup.
If Joven is the start of the story and Anejo is the close, Reposado is the part where everything tightens - the build, the weight, the calm in the middle of the charge.
Se Busca Reposado doesn't smoulder or shout - It just delivers. Clean. Strong. Unmistakably grounded.
