The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask combines two distinct sherry-seasoned oak types: American white oak casks seasoned with sherry, and European oak casks seasoned with sherry. The American oak contributes lighter, more delicate notes — vanilla, citrus, and fresh fruit — while the European oak delivers the richer dried fruit, dark chocolate, and spice typical of The Macallan's traditional sherry cask character. The combination of the two cask types produces a more approachable, lighter expression than the Single Cask Sherry Oak releases, while retaining the house's characteristic sherry oak signature. Matured on the Easter Elchies Estate, Speyside, for 12 years. Bottled at 40% ABV.
