Wolfburn Morven is a lightly peated single malt named after the mountain Morven, which dominates the Caithness landscape visible from the distillery. The expression uses barley peated to approximately 10 parts per million — a light peat level that adds a gentle, smoky underpinning without overwhelming the spirit's natural fruity and malty character. Morven is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and quarter casks — the smaller quarter cask format increasing the ratio of wood contact to spirit volume, accelerating the development of vanilla, spice, and wood sweetness without overloading the light peat with heavy oak. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration.

Wolfburn Distillery is located just west of Thurso in Caithness — the northernmost point of mainland Scotland — making it the most northerly mainland whisky distillery in Scotland. The original Wolfburn Distillery was founded by William Smith in 1821 and named after the local burn, or stream, from which it drew its water. Tax records from 1826 show it produced 125,000 litres annually, making it the largest distillery in Caithness at the time. The distillery fell silent in the 1860s and stood as a ruin for nearly 150 years. A new distillery of the same name was established on the same site, with the ground broken in August 2012 and distillation recommencing on 25 January 2013.
