Description
64% Grenache, 24% Mataro, 12% Shiraz A seductively bright nose that shows dark fruit, a captivating and exotic spice and a savoury edge that is typical of this style of modern Barossa red. The palate exudes dense and and textured dark berry and blue fruit flavours complemented by aromatic spice notes lent by the Shiraz. A solid and impressive wine nicely framed by fine tannins as well as an attractive floral lift on the impressively long finish. Try it with a chargrilled steak and a peppercorn sauce. One of the best vintages in the last decade for the Barossa in 2021 with vignerons ecstatic with the quality of the fruit. Good rainfall over winter ensured the soil retained moisture over the early part of the growing season. A warm - but not ridiculously hot - Summer followed with dry conditions ensuring an even ripening all the way up to harvest. A vintage that will be celebrated in the region.
