    • Description

61% Marsanne, 39% Roussanne. Our traditional white blend comes from Marsanne vines planted in 1973 and the oldest Roussanne vines in Australia, planted in 1983. A low yielding, high quality vintage producing excellent, intense wines in small quantities. Picked on March 12 & 15 2022, bottled Feb 2023. The Marsanne and Roussanne grapes were handpicked, sorted, destemmed and crushed before pressing. As they were only picked three days apart, they were co- fermented in stainless steel tank, then transferred to old oak barrels post fermentation for aging. The purity of the fruit is allowed to shine through, unimpeded by new oak and malolactic fermentation. A wine of understated depth and complexity. It balances finesse and power, with a savoury structure that calls out for food. Aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine, and orange blossom are interspersed with savoury aromas of pear skin, quince and sandalwood. The palate is finely textured, fresh & moreishly lively, while offering the breadth and power typical of the blend.

    Yeringberg

Yeringberg’s status as a pioneer of the Yarra Valley is indisputable. It was one of the first wineries established in the region, was one of the last to stop making wine in the Yarra Valley when wine production ground to a halt in 1921 and was once again one of the first to revive its operations in 1969 when Australian-made wine came back into favour.

Third-generation winemaker, Guill de Pury, and his daughter Sandra focus on small-batch, handcrafted wines that reflect the history and charm of Yeringberg. The family celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2013 with plans to be making classic Yarra Valley wines for many more years to come.
