Armagnac

Although Armagnac is the oldest brandy distilled in France, it has often taken a back seat to its more famous cousin, Cognac. Unlike Cognac, which is produced to the north of Bordeaux, Armagnac is crafted in the region nestled between the Adour and Garonne rivers in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Armagnac has never been produced in the vast quantities that Cognac has, which is why it remains the domain of smaller, family-owned producers rather than the large-scale operations seen in the Cognac industry. This artisanal approach ensures a unique and personal touch in each bottle, reflecting the heritage and dedication of its makers.

The production of Armagnac involves ten different grape varieties, but four primary grapes form the backbone of most Armagnacs. These are Baco 22A, Colombard, Folle Blanche, and Ugni Blanc. These varieties are always blended to create the distinctive and complex flavor profiles that Armagnac enthusiasts cherish.

United Cellars proudly imports a diverse selection of Armagnacs from some of the finest producers in the region. Our collection includes offerings from esteemed names such as Castarède, Château de Tariquet, Comte de Lamaestre, Domaine d'Espérance, Ferme de Labouc, Francis Darroze, Gelas, Lacourtoisie, and many more. Each bottle in our selection has been carefully chosen to provide an authentic taste of this historic and celebrated spirit.

Discover the rich history, complex flavors, and artisanal craftsmanship of Armagnac with United Cellars. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or new to this exquisite brandy, our curated collection promises something exceptional for every palate.
