    • Description

Le Foule's winemaker, Frederic, comes from the picturesque town of Limoux in the Languedoc. Having done vintages in Australia, New
Zealand, California and Burgundy, Frederic has now come home is deeply committed to promoting the wine from the Pays d’Oc.

“I love the amazing diversity of soil and climate we can find in the region. It is a unique place, where each grape variety is able to find its terroir of predilection!”

This wine is from terroir well suited to the production of high-quality Pinot Noir - the estate's highest plot. Thanks to the high altitude at which they are grown, the grapes benefit from cool nights and full sun during the day. This wide range in temperature difference is advantageous for good balance between sugar and freshness.

    Delicious French Pinot Noir

The delivery arrived a few days after I left for a 3 week trip to NZ South Island drinking Central Otago Pinots daily, mostly delightful. Though I would crack the la Foule to compare not expecting much. Very pleasantly surprised, absolutely delicious, smooth, complex, fruit driven, subtle but powerful nose. Very impressive Pinot Noir indeed, definitely gives those kiwi big names a run for the money.

Thank you for the amazing review, Pete! We’re so glad to hear that you were pleasantly surprised by the La Foule 'Pays d’Oc' Pinot Noir 2023, especially after your experience with Central Otago Pinots. It’s great to know that this French Pinot held its own and impressed you with its smooth, complex, and fruit-driven profile. We’re delighted that it gave those big Kiwi names a run for their money! We look forward to helping you discover more wines that stand up to your high expectations. Safe travels and enjoy the rest of your trip!

    Simple, easy drinking

Pleasant easy drinking wine but lacking in spicey / earthy complexity I appreciate in pinot noir.
