Thousand Candles Vineyard

Thousand Candles is a farm in the Yarra Valley region of Victoria, the southern-most state of Australia. The farm was purchased for the purpose of producing a remarkable wine. The brief accepted by William Downie, (the Thousand Candles general manager and winemaker), was to produce wines that will change the conversation about the Australian wine industry. It is their belief that the way they farm will define their success, much more so than any processing aids or method.

The Thousand Candles purchase of the property was made in order to produce a remarkable wine.
Since they started farming, Thousand Candles have worked hard at making and applying their own compost teas brewed from biological matter found on the farm itself. By nourishing the soil the vineyard has seen a massive growth in biological activity and nutrient content; consequently, making the vines stronger and healthier.
