Marius Selosse Racine Avize Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2019
Tasting Notes
Marius Selosse is Jacques Selosse‘s cousin, and this grand Champagne is produced on an intimate scale—only 1515 bottles in total.
There are just three distribution partners worldwide, with our company covering Asia-Pacific. United Cellars seems the perfect partner for Champagne Marius Selosse.
Finally, there are only a handful of distributors in France for the domestic market, one importer in Japan and only one in the United States (the most renowned Champagne importer in the USA: Zachys), and that’s it.
Racine comes from a small plot called “La Fosse aux Pourceaux” this plot is shared between Pascal Agrapart, Jacques Selosse and Marius Selosse.
Marius SELOSSE RACINE is a very limited cuvée created by Jérôme SELOSSE, the cousin family of Jacques SELOSSE.
The production for vintage 2019 was limited to 1515 bottles and 198 MAGNUM due to two small parcels called Fosse aux Pourceaux» and Chemin de Châlons.
Both parcels are located in the heart of AVIZE Grand Cru, in the family plot passed down for 4 generations. La Fosse aux Pourceaux was planted in 1955 by MARIUS SELOSSE. Le Chemin de Châlons was planted in 1975 by JACKIE SELOSSE, father of Jérôme SELOSSE.
La Fosse aux Pourceaux is composed of chalky soil with calcareous clay. Soil are highly drained with deep root growth, offering a strong mineral expression of the Chardonnay. Le Chemin de Châlons is composed of chalky soil with a silty-clay horizon, allowing a progressive and balanced ripening of the grapes.
RACINE 2019 is the amazing result of those two parcels expression in assemblage , revealing all the purity of AVIZE through deep aromatic concentration , optimal ripeness and preserved natural acidity..
