Jean-Manuel Jacquinot obtained a degree in Oenology at the esteemed University of Reims. After this he became trainee oenologist at the world famous house of Veuve Clicquot. Today, Jean-Manuel has over 20 years of experience in making Champagne, is a Member of the French Oenologist Association, and is a qualified taster at the Comité Interprofessionnel des Vins de Champagne (CIVC). But Jean-Manuel is not a man to just rest on his laurels; he consulted to several fledgling English vineyards including Nyetimber and Ridgeview, winning several gold medals, as well as the trophy for the Best Sparkling wine in the International Wines and Spirits Competition- trumping many of the biggest names in France. He also consulted in Canada, winning gold for the best sparkling wine for Niagara Falls Wines. Safe to say Jean-Manuel knows how to make world-class sparkling wines! This Champagne is very lively, very fresh, with notes of fresh and candied lemon. The dress is a pale gold-green color. Wine without malolactic fermentation, which allows it to retain the liveliness and finesse of Chardonnay, it is neither filtered nor refrigerated. The very fine bubbles pearl and charm the palate. Aromas of acacia flower and honey develop. The liveliness and complexity give it great length. The minerality and salty hint make it ideal for pairing with oysters, seafood and fish. It goes well with sunny summer aperitifs.

    Jacquinot and Fils

Champagne house Jacquinot et Fils is a family estate whose roots in Epernay in France's Champagne region date back to the 17th century. In 1918, Pierre Jacquinot commercially developed the family vineyard, which dates back to the French Revolution, and acted as both a grape broker and Champagne wine merchant. Ten years later, Pierre purchased his own press and began to make wine out of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. A passionate violinist, Pierre named these wines to reflect the fact. With titles such as Symphonie (Vintage) and Harmonie (produced only in exceptional vintages) the Jacquinot brand also features a treble clef as a tribute to its founder. Pierre's two sons Jacques and Jean-Guy joined their father's business in 1947 and officially created the Jacquinot et Fils brand. Jacques directed the marketing activity, while Jean-Guy oversaw the vineyards, which totalled over 17 hectares. Today, Pierre's grandsons are at the head of the business and grape production. Champagne Jacquinot et Fils still supplies fruit to other Champagne houses in the region.
