Sourcing Non-Vintage sparkling wine that resembles any sort of affinity to the great wines of Champagne can prove quite a tricky task. However, the team a Cloudy Bay seem to consistently master it with their spectacular selection of premium estate grown fruit. This Chardonnay dominant blend has spent a noteworthy two years on its lees deriving character building yeast and toasty brioche notes, together with a luscious textural, creamy palate. There's plenty of ripe citrus and apple fruit, driving a palate that's lively, super fine, long and above all savoury.

    Cloudy Bay

Established in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wine makers to venture into the now renowned Marlborough wine region. At the time, it was almost an unimaginable place to set-up a vineyard but Cloudy Bay’s founder - David Hohnen - was convinced of its potential to produce great wine and invested in the best land of the region. Since then, Marlborough has risen to become New Zealand’s leading wine region, as well as one of the finest winemaking locations in the world.

The winery was named after Cloudy Bay, a body of water explorer Captain James Cook came across during his voyage to New Zealand in 1770. His discovery coincided with flooding in the region, which washed large amounts of sediment into the sea. Noticing the water’s opaque appearance, Cook cleverly christened the area Cloudy Bay. Today, Cloudy Bay not only captures the essence of Marlborough but also embodies New Zealand's luxury to the world. The luxury of space and time, of intimate moments and nature’s rarest qualities.

Due to their visionary spirit, Cloudy Bay secured vineyards on some of the most exceptional terroir within the Marlborough region. With their diversity and their quality, Cloudy Bay’s vineyards represent the essence of the region and embody it in wine. Grapes from the Wairau Valley bring the punch and the intense flavours, while the fruits from the Southern Valley ensure elegance and refinement. A rich palette of terroirs that provides nuances of aroma and flavours, bringing complexity to their wines.
